Noise Maker News is a social bookmarking site specifically for musicians (guitar players, bass players, singers, drummers, etc). The idea is simple. If you like something, you vote for it. If enough people vote for it, it makes it to the top of the page.

There are other social bookmarking sites out there, but none of them focus on musicians. None of them (that I know of) have sections for “Awesome Bass Playing” or “Acoustics”. For example, here is my Recording News page. What other social bookmarking site has that?

New Pligg Site For Dogs and Puppies at Dogsniff.com

My girlfriend couldn’t care less about html, css, or MySQL. As ridiculous as this may sound, one thing she is VERY interested in is dogs. So, we worked out a deal where we found a site that we could launch together…DogSniff.com.

DogSniff.com is a social bookmarking site like Digg, Del.ic.ious, etc that allow members to select the top stories. Of course, members don’t “select” the top stories, they “Sniff” the top stories. DogSniff focuses entirely on dogs and puppies. NO CATS ALLOWED!…(my rules).

So if you are a dog love and you’d like to see the Top Dog Videos, Puppy stories, and doggy blogs, DogSniff.com is your place! Maybe you can sniff out some great stories, too!

Amy even has a Wordpress Dog Blog, which she is still getting used to.

Dog News Blogs and More

Today, my girlfriend and I started our first website together. Generally, girlfriends and websites go together about like girlfriends and other women, but I think this may be an exception. I finally found something she likes that I think is economical.

We are starting dogsniff.com. The idea is for our members to sniff out the most exciting dog stuff online and vote for it. Members decide the top dog news , dog blogs , and dog videos. When we get it all finished I think it’s going to be very exciting for the kind of people that get excited about dog things online.

We decided to go with the Pligg system which is essentially a dig clone. It’s still in Beta mode so we’ll see how it turns out. I think it will work fine for quite a while. The most important thing is that we are first. I’m excited for our users. They’ll be able to â€œdemocraticallyâ€ decide what the best dog news. It should be a lot of fun.

Home Recording Website

I started my home recording website, Recordingreview.com back in the fall of 2005. It took me about 14 months, but this little hobby site of mine now pays all my bills (barely). I’ve got ambitions of taking much further, but for now I’m taking the slow and steady route.

This site started because I was getting bombarded by emails from Echo Echo Studios, my recording studio website, asking about the process of recording, usually by home recording enthusiasts.

Before I knew it, I had 300 members and an active community focusing on the home recording process (starting with putting together and maintaining a band and ending with marketing the record).

After Effects Introduction / Getting Started Videos I found these videos to be exceptional for getting started...

Recording Studio Website

I have owned and operated Echo Echo Studios for years, which is my recording studio website. This site is, by no means impressive as it was built years and years ago. I just never felt much motivation to give it an overhaul.

As you can see, it states that I’m taking a break from recording. This is a semi-truth. I haven’t had a break from anything! Instead, I’ve been focusing my efforts on producing and not just slapping down local music demos.
